Timeform pick out their three best bets from Kempton on Wednesday evening...
"...he should prove very hard to beat..."
Timeform on Buzz
The form of Buzz's win over 11f here last time is proving strong, with the runner-up winning handicaps at Epsom and Royal Ascot since. The handicapper reacted to that win by raising him 5 lb in the weights and, if still in the same form after six weeks off, he should prove very hard to beat. Native Fighter's record on polytrack is very good and he looks a solid opponent, while Roar wasn't as his best on his debut for Roger Charlton but the yard are in better form now and he can't be dismissed.
Petitioner also ran in the aforementioned race, finishing third to Buzz, beaten one and three quarter lengths over 11 furlongs here last time and, as a half-brother to Biographer (smart winner who stayed two and a quarter miles), he could have more to offer significantly up in trip. Given the way the form of his latest run has worked out, a mark of 82 shouldn't be beyond him, and he is fancied to go close provided he stays this much longer trip. Piedita is having her first start for 10 months, but may yet do better this season, and is feared most.
Smooth Sailing is one of the least exposed in this line-up and could be up to making a winning handicap debut. She didn't show much at all in a couple of starts last season, but improved significantly to open her account on return at Salisbury last month, causing a bit of a surprise. However, there was no fluke about that success, and she is bred to be useful, so is fancied to defy an opening mark of 71. Kath's Lustre ran with credit on turf last time and the return to polytrack is only a positive, while Avon Green will be a danger if picking up where she left off in the winter.
