Bets of the Day: Tracy Waggott's only runner of the day is of interest

A very frustrating day yesterday for Alan where the wrong choices were made - Today he is hoping to make the right decisions at Catterick...

"I think Waggott could have found a nice handicap for her charge here and he gets in off a relatively feather weight mark of 81"

I like Tracy Waggott's only runner of the day at Catterick in the last. Copt Hill is hardly what you would call a prolific winner, with just the one win in his 25 starts, but he returned to the track early December after a 250 day break and while he finished a long way down the field on his reappearance, in his second run back he looked much better. He finished third behind Fiddlers Flight that day but I fancy Waggott's eight-year-old gelding to reverse that form today getting 4lbs for a defeat of only two and a quarter lengths.

His last two starts at Newcastle and Sedgfield have both been on heavy ground and his one and only win was in soft, so conditions certainly won't be a problem for him today. I think Waggott could have found a nice handicap for her charge here and he gets in off a relatively feather weight mark of 81 and with Brian Hughes, who gets on well with the horse, in the saddle I think he is a very decent price and the one they all need to beat.

14:25 Catterick - Forest Bihan @ 3.55 Exchange

Brian Ellison runs Forest Bihan at Catterick today, the five-year-old gelding won a hurdle race in France in 2014 before moving to the Ellison yard. Since arriving in England he has been running in some decent company and his last run at Doncaster he was only beaten three and a quarter lengths on heavy ground by Minstrals Gallery.

Today he has Danny Cook on board again who rode him well last time, he is dropping down in class and up in trip (an extra three furlongs today). He was staying on at the end of his at Doncaster and the extra distance could be what he needs. I think he is worth taking a chance on at 3.55 on the Exchange.
