"He tops our weight adjusted ratings and can take this step up in class in his stride."
Timeform on Persuasion
Persuasion - 14:25 York
PERSUASION looks to have an excellent chance of following in the footsteps of current stablemate Phoenix of Spain when taking his chance in the Acomb. He went off an appealing price on debut when seemingly unfancied but didn't display that in the race. He caught the eye in the run, travelling strongly in midfield, before being switched into daylight and putting the race to bed under hands-and-heels riding. He tops our weight adjusted ratings and can take this step up in class in his stride. Charlie Hills won this race back in 2014 with the then Mrs Susan Roy owned Dutch Connection after winning the same maiden at Glorious Goodwood.
Zuba - 20:15 Kempton
Kempton hosts a small but useful handicap field over a mile and a half and it looks worth siding against ZUBA despite his eye-catching run last time. He looked unlucky not to have finished closer at the Shergar Cup when not given the strongest of rides but Severance makes appeal off a mark of 91. Since his minor event win, he has been running in pattern company and despite showing that he isn't that class, a mark of 91 looks well within his range and he looks worth opposing the favourite with. Deal A Dollar is thought of better than his mark as well and may pose a challenge.
Ainsdale - 14:35 Carlisle
22% - K. R. Burke's strike rate at CARLISLE since the start of the 2015 season
Karl Burke has a good strike rate at Carlisle and his two-year-old colt AINSDALE looks to have strong claims of enhancing that. He improved dramatically from first to second start when tackling a stiffer six furlongs at Pontefract and with that facing him again today, he can break his maiden tag at the third time of asking. The form from his debut effort at Ayr has taken a couple of subsequent boosts and that looks the best on offer here, giving him leading claims.
