Timeform on Multellie

Collect Call - 19:20 Ripon

This race is almost certainly not as strong as the Ascot maiden Collect Call contested on debut last month. The Kodiac filly showed clear signs of ability on that occasion and, with improvement likely and her yard's two-year-olds going well, she is fancied to open her account at the second attempt. Stage Play has found just one too good on each of her last two starts and is an obvious threat, while Doris Bleasedale is a likely-looking newcomer.

Roman River - 20:20 Ripon

The progressive Roman River did the job well when opening his account at Haydock last week and he is fully expected to follow up under a penalty. It was a sizable leap forward he took that day, taking on his elders for the first time, and he seems sure to be plying his trade at a higher level before the seasons out. Next on the list is another unexposed type in Mushahadaat, who landed an all-weather maiden on his final start for Brian Meehan and is open to improvement now handicapping, while Midsummer Knight is consistent and should also be in the mix.

Multellie - 20:50 Ripon

With the Tim Easterby yard in flying form, it could be worth taking a chance on the well-handicapped Multellie, who admittedly is yet to fire this season. However, he is a C&D winner, and he is becoming too well treated to ignore. Doctor Cross should shape better over this trip, while Searching showed enough at York on Saturday to suggest he can be involved in the finish here, too.
