Nick Shiambouros struck again yesterday when Lord Riddiford won at a BSP 11.0 at Beverley. Nick hopes to carry his good form to York where he has two strong fancies...
"I think he represents super value at [8.8] on the exchange, and will be surprised if he is not involved in the finish"
I am going to take a chance with Suedois in this fascinating contest.
This high class individual was winless last season, but ran creditably in five Group1 races. He cracked heads with the best sprinters in Europe and finished an excellent second to Limato in the July Cup at HQ. He finished second to Magical Memory in this race last season, and has run well fresh in the past. I think he represents super value at [8.8] on the exchange, and will be surprised if he is not involved in the finish.
Ayr Gold Cup winner Brando is the favourite at [3.8]. He won the Abernant in great style on his seasonal reappearance and comes in to this race in great heart. He is a worthy favourite and rates as the main danger to the selection.
I really like the chances of Chessman in this interesting three-year-old handicap.
This colt ran well on handicap debut when finishing second to Bacchus at Newbury. He ran on strongly in the closing stages, and was gaining on the winner close home. I think this likeable individual is open to further improvement and should go close in this competitive looking race. At present he is trading at [3.45] on the exchange which is about right.
Muscika is well worth a mention. This gelding won a maiden in good style at Thirsk last month. He took the lead inside the final furlong and was going away at the finish. The seven furlong trip should suit, and could be worth a saver at around [18.5] on the exchange.
