"He's an exciting prospect for novice hurdles this season and is very much one to follow..."
Rene's Girl was easy to back on her return at Worcester last month, but she showed improved form to make a winning start over fences, going with plenty of zest and jumping superbly in the main. She was well on top at the finish that day, and seems sure to improve further and win more races in this sphere, already looking a better chase than hurdler. Dusky Legend shaped well beaten 11 lengths by the selection that day, but may yet prove second best again.
If The Cap Fits was smart in bumpers last season and he made the perfect start over hurdles at Exeter last month. He wasn't hard pressed to score by eight lengths, passing the post still full of running, and the third has since franked the form. If The Cap Fits looks an exciting prospect for novice hurdles this season and is very much one to follow. Demon d'Aunou was another impressive winner on hurdling debut and looks the obvious danger in what could turn out to be an above-average novice.
Midnight Tour can boast a good strike rate, and could be up to defying top weight on her return to action. She has been raised a total of 12 lb for her last win which came at Cheltenham in April, but that was a career best and she did it in good style. Still only seven, she could yet have more to offer and, capable of going well when fresh, she could rate higher yet. Cool Sky chases a hat-trick and represents a yard in rude health, so commands respect, while the enigmatic Buywise figures on a dangerous mark if fully wound up for this.
