Nick Shiambouros was on the mark yesterday when his best bet won at Southwell. Nick returns with two strong fancies from Lingfield and Wolverhampton...
"I think she is open to a fair bit of improvement, and is attractively priced at [4.6] on the exchange"
Heptathlete is my idea of the winner of this novice stakes.
This filly created a favourable impression on debut when finishing fourth to Homeopathic at Kempton last September. Despite not looking fully wound up, she finished strongly and was not beaten all that far. The third placed finisher gave the form a boost when winning easily over this course last month. I think she is open to a fair bit of improvement, and is attractively priced at [4.6] on the exchange.
Sweet And Dandy heads the market at [3.4]. She swooped late to beat Galloway Hills over this course last month, and is entitled to move forward. I think she may struggle to give the weight to the selection though.
Flora Tristan should go close for trainer Marco Botti.
This filly put in a much improved effort when finishing second to No More Thrills at Chelmsford last month. She took the lead inside the final furlong, but was collared close home by the impressive winner. There is certainly more to come and is fairly priced at [4.1] on the exchange.
Breaking Records is the short priced favourite at [2.32]. Wearing the hood for the first time, he finished third to Carouse over this course last month. This was his best piece of form to date, and is entitled to move forward. He deserves his position at the top of the market but his price is a little thin.
