Royal Frost is in the hands of Dean Kannemeyer who is one of the most respected trainers in South Africa and she looks to have been primed to win her first race this afternoon. After finishing eighth on her debut over course and distance when an easy to back 100/1 chance (after opening at 16/1), she returned here to be beaten four and a half lengths at 50/1 after a tardy start and meeting a few traffic issues. That was a half decent Juvenile Plate and dropped back in to maiden company, and with the added experience, Royal Frost may well get off the mark this afternoon under jockey MJ Byleveld.
Made To Conquer - Kenilworth 13:20
Made To Conquer needs to be forgiven his last run when a disappointing tenth here over seven furlongs, but is hopefully better judged on his half-length second to Dan The Lad at Turffontein in March. His below par effort was his first run in over five months so he may have needed it more than connections thought, but he will be race fit now and stepped up to the mile for the in-form Justin Snaith stable, Made To Conquer looks to have an outstanding chance.
Power Grid - Kenilworth 15:05
Power Grid has already proved himself to be a pretty decent sort with three wins from just the eleven starts, plus four places including a career best second to Cuban Emerald here over course and distance last month, beaten a length and a quarter at the line. The son of Gimmethegreenlight has been put up a pound for that effort which seems fair enough, and over what appears to be his favourite course and distance, Power Grid looks all set for win number four this afternoon.
