Nick Shiambouros is back with two selections from the first day of the St Leger meeting at Doncaster...
"This consistent individual appears to be running in to form and represents good value at [9.8] on the exchange"
Global to shine
Global Applause should prove difficult to beat in this Listed sprint.
This talented colt bounced back to form at Sandown earlier this month when beating Intense Romance easily at Sandown. He was delivered well inside the final furlong, and pulled clear to win with the minimum of fuss. He was a decent two-year-old, and has the form in the book to take this. At present he is trading at [3.6] on the exchange which is more than fair.
El Astronaute is the second choice at [4.3] on the exchange. He was a game winner of a decent handicap at York last month ,but this is tougher and may have to settle for a place.
Placebo and Pears to deliver
Placebo Effect should run well at a decent price in this classified stakes.
This gelding finished third to Face Like Thunder at Thirsk last month. He held every chance a furlong from home, but could only stay on at one pace when the chips were down. This consistent individual appears to be running in to form and represents good value at [9.8] on the exchange. He will be ridden by his talented trainer Ollie Pears.
Central City merits consideration. He has lost his way a little this year, but did manage to win a claimer at Wolverhampton last month. If he can bring his best level of form to the table, he will be a danger to all.
