National Hunt racing returns to Warwick on Tuesday

There is an interesting jumps card at Warwick on Tuesday, and that is where we head for today's attempt at the Placepot.

"...he looks an ideal Placepot banker here, considering he has gone well when fresh in the past."

14:10- Regulation is a useful horse on the Flat, and as a strong-travelling type who is not short of speed, he promises to be well-suited by this sharp test. His experience should stand him in good stead in this sort of company and he is worth banking on for a place in the opener.

14:40- Roadie Joe didn't have much to beat when winning last time at Worcester, after both of his main rivals departed, and he could be one to take on for Placepot purposes under a double penalty. Spa's Dancer is useful on the Flat, and is interesting having his first start in this sphere for James Eustace, he should be included along with Native Display, who was looking a danger until he unseated at Bangor last month.

15:10- Shady Glen has taken to fences well, and should appreciate this drop in trip, after possibly failing to stay an extended three miles at Sedgefield last time. He should be included along with Badgers Retreat, who is well handicapped on his old form, and was possibly still in need of the run on his second start back from a two-year break last time at Stratford.

15:40- King Boru has looked a tricky customer recently, but a move to the Dan Skelton yard could be just what is required to get him back on the right track, and, considering he was a winner from just a 5lb lower mark for Emma Levelle previously, he looks on a dangerous mark today.

16:10- Highland Lodge has slipped to a dangerous mark after being without a win since 2012, and although he could still be opposable for win purposes based on his overall strike rate, he looks an ideal Placepot banker here, considering he has gone well when fresh in the past.

16:40- Creepy could go well here, looking at his excellent record when fresh, but he comes with risks attached, considering the way he finished last term, and he could be worth taking on with Mont Royale, who has made a good start to his chasing career and remains open to further improvement, with the drop in trip looking set to suit his exuberant racing style.
