"...he should prove capable of defying a mark of 97 in a run-of-the-mill handicap..."

Timeform on Tanrudy

17:30 - LONGHOUSE SALE (2) hasn't put a foot wrong in his career to date, and this smart prospect is firmly expected to defy a penalty for his ready success at Ludlow on hurdling debut. Buck's Bin's is expected to reverse recent C&D form with Golden Taipan and provide the main threat to the selection.

18:00 - FINALSHOT (2) was set to show improved form until unseating his rider at Doncaster in February, looking threatening at the time, making smooth headway and yet to be asked for an effort when departing two from home. The 6 lb he receives from Present Ranger swings the balance in his favour in what may well develop into a match between the pair.

18:35 - The early signs are that TANRUDY (3) is going to make a better chaser than hurdler, no real surprise given his pointing background, so he should prove capable of defying a mark of 97 in a run-of-the-mill handicap. Phoenix Rock was about to show improvement before departing last time, so he's another one to consider along with Definately Vinnie.

19:10 - ALLTIMEGOLD (1) is suddenly progressing at a rate of knots and he's been found the ideal race to complete the hat-trick under another penalty. Agentleman is the forecast call following a respectable reappearance over hurdles.

19:40 - SO LONELY (4) didn't need to improve to open her account at Huntingdon last month but ran her best race to date when following up over the same C&D 11 days later, landing some nice bets in the process. She wasn't disgraced in a more competitive race when third at Ludlow last time, no match for the principals when they quickened but staying on well to the line. This race doesn't look as deep, and she is chanced to resume winning ways. Passing Dream has won his last two starts and looks the danger.

20:15 - BARTON ROSE (1)is on a lengthy losing run, but this doesn't look the strongest race of its type, and Global Domination looks a short price given there isn't much between them on form. Barton Rose has now slipped 5 lb below her last winning mark and, given she is used to competing in stronger handicaps than this, she could make her class tell for a trainer that does well in the summer months.

20:45 - This amateur rider has a good record in such events, and LORD IN RED (5) arrives in form having won a handicap chase in good fashion at Huntingdon last week. He hasn't been with this yard long, but he looks a revived horse now, benefiting no end for the step back up in trip in an admittedly weak race, one that didn't test his suspect jumping. He can race off just a 5 lb higher mark now back over hurdles, and is fancied to follow up with this longer trip expected to suit.
