After a memorable Cheltenham Nick Shiambouros returns to the tipping chair with two selections from Uttoxeter...
"The handicapper has given him a chance off a mark of 134 and appears to be running in to form"
Milansbar to bounce back
15:35 Uttoxeter - Milansbar
I am going to take a chance with Milansbar in this long distance chase.
This veteran has run three times this season, and ran respectably on his latest start when finishing fourth to Carole's Destrier at Newbury earlier this month. He found his second wind in the closing stages, and finished the race willingly. The handicapper has given him a chance off a mark of 134 and appears to be running in to form. He finished second in this race last year and is a proven stayer. The testing conditions should not pose a problem, and looks fairly priced at [11.0] on the exchange.
The mare Ms Parfois is another with no stamina or ground issues. She is a consistent sort and should be thereabouts. At present she is trading at [8.2] on the exchange.
Vic to runaway and hide
16:10 Uttoxeter - Runaway Vic
Runaway Vic should prove difficult to beat in this novices' hurdle.
This gelding finished third to the talented Emitom at Ffos Las last November. He was well held when making a mistake at the final flight but finished a mile ahead of the rest. The form of this raced has worked out really well, and in hindsight faced an impossible task. He should move forward and take care of this field. At present he is trading at [2.3] on the exchange which is just about right.
The Captains Inn is the obvious danger. He put in a much improved effort when beating Chef D'Equipe at Leicester in January, but carries a penalty which could prove problematic. At present he is trading at [2.92] on the exchange.
