Timeform's US team pick out the best bets in North America on Wednesday.
"The nine-furlong claimer that comes as Race 7 at Woodbine (due off at 01:49 GMT) looks a good opportunity for the ultra-consistent Rich Daddy..."
Trainer Tammy Domenosky looks to have found a good spot for her six-year-old gelding Mec Dancer in the nine-furlong allowance that features as race 8 on the Hawthorne card. The son of Orientate won two and finished second in two at Arlington this summer, and found only the fairly useful Quittin Time too good in a competitive field when returning to this track for his latest start. He looks to have a few lengths to spare over his rivals, the best of whom may be Chas The Man, drawn wide whereas Mec Dancer gets the rail and has the early speed to take advantage. Best foot forward should see Mec Dancer win or very nearly win.
Some speedy fillies and mares are on show for the $33k Allowance that has been carded as race 6 at Penn (due off at 00:16 GMT) but none seemingly speedier than Sweet Emster. The four-year-old showed a clean pair of heels to useful rivals at Parx last time (race beginning to work out well), which was her third win from just five outings. The concern is the extra distance for this 6f event, but that would be a lot more of a worry if Sweet Emster's rivals seemed likely to contest a strong pace. In fact, none of them is a confirmed front-runner, and it is entirely possible that Sweet Emster will be able to lead while keeping enough back for the home run. She should be hard to pass.
The nine-furlong claimer that comes as Race 7 at Woodbine (due off at 01:49 GMT) looks a good opportunity for the ultra-consistent Rich Daddy to get back into the winner's enclosure. That last happened at this course over a year ago, but since then Rich Daddy has run well each time, coming second twice and third twice in his last five appearances. The distance and surface is no problem, and Rich Daddy could even be the lone speed in this 10-runner field. On Timeform form-based ratings he has 7 lb in hand of Rackman, and more to spare over the remainder. He should go off favourite, but quite possibly not as short as his record justifies. Any odds against would be attractive.
