Timeform's US team look at the North American action on Tuesday.
"Coed Kate looks a solid selection in the fifth race (01:28 GMT) at Mountaineer..."
Brainwash makes his first start for Bart Hone in the seventh race (21:51 BST) at Zia Park and there's a good chance it will be a winning one for a trainer that has a solid record with first-time starters claimed from other yards. He was well held at Albuquerque last time but that wasn't any old Albuquerque race but one of the track's showpiece events and on a couple of pieces of his form this year, notably at Monmouth in June and Churchill Downs in May, both much stronger affairs than this one, he has the beating of this field quite readily. Forecast favourite I Stand Alone usually hits the frame but has had plenty of chances at this level.
In the ninth (22:43 GMT) at Zia Park, Jon Amett is responsible for the forecast favourite Tap The Admiral and pretty good its record looks too, with five wins in its last six races. None of those came by our reckoning in quite the depth of race that he faces today, however, his only defeat in that time being when he did, and we can see him being overturned again by Candy Waltz who beat him on that occasion. Justin Evans' inmate has also seen the winner's enclosure plenty recently, having won three of its last four starts, and he's regularly been beating stronger company than he meets here. He should really be favourite in our book.
Coed Kate looks a solid selection in the fifth race (01:28 GMT) at Mountaineer, an allowance contest over a mile and seventy yards. The daughter of Flower Alley broke her maiden here back in June, making all, since when she has finished third in a much better contest moved off the turf and fifth in an even stronger turf allowance affair where she only gave way late on. Today's race is a big step down from those last two contests and she looks assured of the lead from her outside stall. If all goes to plan, she'll be very tough to catch.
