Timeform's US team pick out the best bets in North America on Tuesday.
"In the last race (03:04 BST) at Mountaineer it may be worth taking a chance on Hummelstown back from nine months off."
In the sixth race (01:55 BST) at Mountaineer, an ordinary claimer over the extended five furlongs, we are keen on the chances of Ronaldo. He boasts just about the best form of these and his recent efforts certainly make more consistent reading than several of his more dangerous rivals. His trainer Tom Hoop is in corking form with one in four of his horses winning at the meet and he has a 30% strike rate when teaming up with today's rider. Reese's Roar could be the main danger.
In the last race (03:04 BST) at Mountaineer it may be worth taking a chance on Hummelstown back from nine months off. He is the form pick on nearly all his efforts last year, and this is a weaker contest by some way than those were. His form tailed off in 2013, but he's changed stables since and should easily get his own way in front if ridden in the same manner as for his previous yard.
It may be worth laying Sarge Hudson in the fourth race at Presque Isle. This claiming contest looks very open with next to nothing between a handful of the runners on Timeform ratings, and Sarge Hudson has rather surprisingly been put in as favourite despite only having run on the synthetic surface once when last at Keeneland. He has won a couple of races on the turf at the specialist Tampa Bay track earlier this year, but hasn't run for over three months and comes from a yard with a low strike rate right now.
