Timeform's US team bring you three bets from Tuesday's meeting at Turf Paradise...
Finally Diamonds recorded a good time in finishing second in a maiden optional claimer last time out, and can go one better at the same level in race 3 at Turf Paradise today (21:18 GMT). That performance came over six furlongs and he does have to prove his stamina over today's one-mile distance, but he is likely to represent a bit of value given there are a pair of J.J. Kruljac trainees in the race, that being a stable whose runners are often over-bet to a certain extent.
The dirt allowance contest carded as race 6 at Turf Paradise (22:13 GMT) has a good shape to it, with both the front two in the betting seemingly better on turf. This could leave the way clear for Cookielamour to record a second successive win, having been successful in a similar contest last time out. Cookielamour has plenty of tactical speed too, and should be towards the front end in a race not expected to unfold at a rapid pace. That, and her proven dirt ability, gives her the edge over her market rivals.
The most intriguing runner on the whole card at Turf Paradise is in the $3.5k claimer carded as race 7 (22:41 GMT). Exclude showed decent form on dirt way back at the start of the year, but has done the majority of his running on turf and synthetics since then. A son of excellent dirt sire Tiznow, there seems to be plenty of evidence that Exclude is simply a better horse on a dirt surface, and he gets a big trainer change today, making his first start for the barn of David Wolochuk. Morning Line quotes of 6/1 seem to underestimate his chances somewhat.
