Timeform's US team nominate the best bets available on Tuesday.
"Spirit of Joy has won her last two races in convincing fashion, but neither performance was particularly sparkling on the clock, and she faces a significantly tougher task..."
A quiet Tuesday in the US, and all our selections will be from Turf Paradise, the first of them coming in the maiden that is carded as race 3 (20:21 GMT). The J.J. Kruljac-trained Bench Ruling has been competing in much stronger maidens than this one at the likes of Los Alamitos and Del Mar, and this drop in class should be all that's needed to get him off the mark at the fourth time of asking. He does have a 94-day layoff to overcome, but that sort of thing is rarely an issue with runners from this particular stable.
Another maiden to catch our eye is Our Brother B.A. - this time in the turf maiden claimer that has a scheduled post time of 21:17 GMT. Our Brother B.A. was a good second in a similar contest last time out, proving that he is equally effective on turf as on dirt. That gives him a distinct advantage over once-raced Morning Line favourite Ride Hard Cowboy, who was fifth in a dirt maiden on his debut. With Ride Hard Cowboy having a pedigree that's more dirt-orientated, Our Brother B.A. looks the value call.
Spirit of Joy has won her last two races in convincing fashion, but neither performance was particularly sparkling on the clock, and she faces a significantly tougher task in race 7 at Turf Paradise (22:13 GMT). With plenty of her opposition possessing form that is equally as good, if not a tad stronger, Spirit of Joy looks worth laying in this contest. Her forecast odds are 4.0, but a lay at anything up to 4.7 would suffice.
