Timeform's US team pick out the best bets on Thursday.
"Three horses stand out in the seventh race (02:37 GMT) at Delta Downs, a five-furlong dash, and the value play looks to be Mr. Fuzzybottom..."
The seventh race (20:14 GMT) at Aqueduct is an allowance race for two-year-olds over a mile on the turf and looks an excellent opportunity for Zandar to gain his second win of the season. Successful in a seven-furlong maiden at Belmont in September, he then ran in a stakes race over today's distance at the same track and finished second behind Vision Perfect, who set a high standard beforehand, once again showing a willing attitude while demonstrating his versatility as regards underfoot conditions. Former Karl Burke Windsor maiden winner Glasgow Gailes is priced up at 4 but looks to have a good deal to find on his debut for Graham Motion, having very much had the run of the race at Windsor, while forecast third favourite Moon River has his stamina to prove.
Garlic Jack might arguably have the best form in the sixth race (02:17 GMT) at Charles Town, a two-year-old maiden over seven furlongs on the dirt, but he's already been beaten three times against opposition no better than he meets today, doesn't have a progressive profile and is up against two likely newcomers at the top of the card in the shape of Rockhopper Penguin and Indy Boy who won't have to possess much ability to score at the first time of asking. Our TimeformUS colleagues are lukewarm on his chance too, rating a couple of those with previous experience ahead of him, and the percentage call is to lay him at around the 4 forecast.
Three horses stand out in the seventh race (02:37 GMT) at Delta Downs, a five-furlong dash, and the value play looks to be Mr. Fuzzybottom who has been priced up as outsider of that trio. Steve Asmussen's versatile charge - he has won on both turf and dirt this year - looks to have both the best form and the best speed figures by our reckoning and comes here on the back of a win at Remington Park against opposition no stronger than he encounters today. In contrast, his main market rivals Why It's True and Adieu My Friend are moving up in grade and promise to take out more of the market than they perhaps should.
