Timeform's US team bring you bets from Belmont and Evangeline Downs on Thursday...
Race 4 at Belmont (19:53 BST) appears to have a wide-open look to it on first inspection. However, a closer examination reveals a horse that could well be a class above his rivals. Bluegrass Flash was last seen finishing down the field in an Aqueduct maiden last November, but probably didn't handle the muddy track that day. His previous effort, when second to Kentucky Derby fifth Samraat, is much more reflective of his ability, and a reproduction of that would be more than good enough here.
Hitchismyname looks worth opposing in race 1 at Evangeline (23:40 BST). At his best when allowed to dominate in front, that scenario looks unlikely to develop for Hitchismyname, with several other front runners in opposition. He should be more at home in this claimer than the allowance race he contested last time, but this is a competitive affair by claiming standards, and his forecast price of 3.5 doesn't fully reflect that fact.
Maiden claimers at Evangeline are typically weak affairs and race 3 (00:34 BST) is no exception. The forecast favourite is Intimidator's Cat, but his form is poor, and this looks a cast iron opportunity for Show Biz Smith to make a winning debut. Trained by Bret Calhoun, who has a very good overall record with debutants, Show Biz Smith would not have to be particularly good to take this. His forecast odds of 9.0 look fanciful, but anything above 4.0 would be well worth taking.
