Timeform's US team advise two backs and a lay on Thursday...
The first of today's bets comes in Belmont's second race (18:51 BST), and revolves around a horse trying a new set of circumstances. Giant Fox has only made two career starts, both on dirt, and is now switched to turf by his shrewd trainer Leah Gyarmati. His last dirt outing was poor, but Giant Fox had shown promise on his debut, and being by Giant's Causeway, there is every chance the switch to turf will be a positive. This is also a big drop in class from open maiden company to the maiden claiming ranks, and the forecast price underestimates his chance here.
Berry Loud didn't show much in his first attempt on turf last time, and it is somewhat surprising that connections have opted to go the turf route once more in the fourth race at Lousiana Downs (20:46 BST). There are several in here who have already shown form on the grass well in excess of Berry Loud's effort last time, and he looks to have been priced up more on the strength of his trainer's form than anything he has achieved on the track.
Don Tito disappointed in the slop last time, but has every chance of bouncing back to form in race 7 at Belmont (21:26 BST). This seven-year-old gelding has shown a useful level of form in both allowance and higher-priced claiming races this spring, and had been most consistent until that blip last time out. With dry, sunny conditions forecast in New York today, Don Tito looks to have every chance of getting back on track.
