Timeform's US team advise two backs and a lay on Saturday...
Passion For Action has won both two of its three starts since making its debut at Woodbine in July and can add to his win in a well-endowed stakes race on the turf here last time by following up in a similar event on the synthetic surface in the eighth race there today (21:42 GMT). The son of Speightstown bounded clear last time to register his second 100+ Timeform rating in a row, one backed up by a good timefigure, and he can prove too strong for Brooklynsway who might have also won a similar event last time out and has been put in on 4 but has a good deal to find by our estimation.
At Hawthorne the best bet might well be in the seventh race (22:50 GMT) where the progressive Misty Miranda goes for her fifth win in a row. The first two of those four came at Fairplex Park where the opposition wasn't that strong, but her last two wins have come here in claiming affairs when, against a better class of opposition, she has raised her game twice more. If anything, the calibre of rival she meets today is slightly down on last time, so with her closest form rival Exquisite Lady very hard to predict she looks a reliable option at fairly generous 5.5 Morning Line odds.
Take Me Along is worth laying in the last race (03:02 GMT) at Penn National as he has a suspect profile in a race in which there doesn't seem to be a lot between the runners. Sandee Martin's gelding hasn't run since September 2013 when he was with Joseph Caruso at Presque Isle and has a record that suggests he is slightly better on synthetics than dirt. His trainer doesn't have a great record with runners back form a lay off and with Is Not and May Dash Cash looking solid rivals he will need to be at his very best to make a winning comeback.
