Timeform's US team recommend two backs and a lay on Saturday...
This is the first time Riposte has had the chance to race over a trip more in keeping with her European form - both her Stateside runs have been at nine furlongs - and if that prompts the expected improvement over this more galloping track she should win readily.
In the first race (18:15 BST) at Delaware, Coldblack looks worth laying at the forecast 2-1, despite there being only six runners. By our reckoning he looks to have in the region of 10lb to find with forecast favourite Fond Of Candy as well as a couple of others, and if that isn't enough then his last three runs have all been some way below what he is capable of at his modest best. This six-furlong trip is also short of that Coldblack has shown his best form at and he should be nearer 5-1 by our estimation.
Race 3 (18:43 BST) at Monmouth looks to provide a decent opportunity for Singing My Way to extend his winning sequence to eight. The inveterate front runner might get some initial pace pressure from The Snickers Kid but with this being more a marathon than a sprint he should see him off and come home in front. Indeed, each of his last seven winning efforts have look superior to anything his rivals have achieved and anything around 2.6 will be value.
The best bet at Belmont today looks to be Riposte in the ninth race, the Grade 2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes (22:38 BST) over a mile and three furlongs. Admittedly Riposte has been a bit disappointing since joing Bill Mott from Lady Cecil in view of her form here last year, but this is the first time she has had the chance to race over a trip more in keeping with her European form - both her Stateside runs have been at nine furlongs - and if that prompts the expected improvement over this more galloping track she should win readily.
