Timeform's US team bring you bets from Tampa Bay and Turf Paradise on Saturday...
In the second race (17.54 GMT) at Tampa Bay Nesso and Dear To All head the market but there looks to be a bigger form gap between them than their prices suggest and Nesso has to be the selection with Dear To All's second place at six furlongs here last year in similar grade looking somewhat of a standout effort. Indeed, that run was followed by a reversion to his usual norm, whereas Nesso, while not up to the Grade 3 event she ran in last time, has form at a higher level and is a proven winner on this unique dirt surface, so is worth support in this weak event.
Ex-French War Correspondent has been put in as favourite for the highlight at Tampa Bay, the Tampa Bay Stakes at 20.50 GMT over a mile and half a furlong on the turf, but the 2014 Deauville winner was no great shakes in France and the merit of his second at Woodbine last year is still somewhat fuzzy. With the next pair in the market Sky Flight and Margano both having something to prove, albeit the former is progressive, the bet may well be Guys Reward who won this race in 2014. He comes here after a similar sort of preparation to last year and a winner at Grade 3 level at Monmouth in the autumn, he has the form in the book to land a repeat success.
Serendipity Grove could well be the answer to the fifth race (21.48 GMT) at Turf Paradise, a five-furlong claimer over five furlongs. The selection usually races at six furlongs, and won a conditions race here last time out, but he's won at five in the not-too-distant past and the makeup of the race today promises to suit him well with two tearaways likely to set the contest up for one patiently ridden. In that event, forecast odds around 4 would appeal greatly, though anything above 3.4 would be acceptable.
