Timeform's US team bring you their three best bets for Monday night's stateside action...
"Transformative, a son of the high-class miler Quality Road, should cope well with the step up in distance and looks like being a very tough nut indeed to crack in this company..."
The Morning Line looks to have the wrong favourite in the opener at Woodbine (due off at 18:00 BST), putting Decision Day and Charlie's Wisdom ahead of our fancy, Transformative. All three finished second at this course last time, with Decision Day's effort arguably the pick on overall times. However, there should be little doubt as to which piece of form has been working out best since. Transformative split Silver Ride and Hollywood Critic in a maiden special weight a month ago, and that pair both posted 97 Timeform form-based ratings on their next appearances. Transformative, a son of the high-class miler Quality Road, should cope well with the step up in distance and looks like being a very tough nut indeed to crack in this company.
Binks Forest looks vulnerable in his hat-trick bid at Woodbine (race 3, due off at 19:02 BST) and can be opposed at what is likely to be a fairly short price. The son of Street Cry was convincing enough in lowering the colours of the useful Renegade Man on turf here two starts back but had less to beat when accounting for General Keon in workmanlike fashion in an allowance here last time. Turkish and Crushin Hard are narrowly ahead of Binks Forest on Timeform form ratings, while the other trio are not far behind. Binks Forest will almost certainly have to post a personal best on career start number 46 to maintain his winning streak.
The edge to be had by "knowing your shippers" in North American racing shows little sign of being eroded, as anyone who backed ex-French Kenzadargent for her two wins Stateside will attest. The filly goes for a hat-trick in race 9 at Belmont - a listed contest named after that great foreign raider Pebbles and due off at 21:58 BST - but looks to face some stern opposition, not least from fellow imports, Lady Lara, Sandiva and Indian Rainbow. The last-named is the pick of them on European form, having chased home the smart Bawina in a Group 3 at Deauville last time. Indian Rainbow has a distance to suit, is on Lasix for her US debut for Christophe Clement, and, getting weight from her more significant rivals, looks likely to outrun her forecast odds.
