Timeform's US team pick out the best bets on Monday.
"Over at Sunland Park in New Mexico, a lay of the Morning Line favourite Rey Del Mar is recommended in race 8..."
On a quiet day in North America, we head to Turf Paradise where our first selection runs in the maiden claimer carded as race 6 (22:10 GMT). Ryleigh Ruler has been competing in better races than this on the California circuit for Ed Moger, and now joins one of Turf Paradise's most prolific trainers in Robertino Diodoro. She possesses the best form, and her works on the tracks have been really good too, suggesting that this switch to the Turf Paradise dirt from a synthetic surface will be no problem whatsoever.
Diodoro also has a good chance of taking the next race at Turf Paradise, a five-and-a-half furlong, $5K claimer, with Harlan's Vitesse. This four-year-old gelding will appreciate being dropped in class having finished sixth in better company last time out. Prior to that, Harlan's Vitesse had taken a similar contest to today's, recording a good TimeformUS speed figure in the process. A return to that form will see him go close.
Over at Sunland Park in New Mexico, a lay of the Morning Line favourite Rey Del Mar is recommended in race 8 (22:17 GMT), a one-mile, $5k claimer. Bart Hone's four-year-old gelding is a stone-cold closer who often finds his best stride when it's all too late, and with little early pace predicted in this contest, he looks set to struggle to justify short odds. A lay at anything around 3.5 would be a fair play.
