Timeform's US team pick out three of the best bets on Friday.
"Filled With Wonder looks capable of taking the second race (23:27 GMT) at Penn National and is overpriced at 5 on the Morning Line."
For much of the his career Financial Mogul has been running without success in Graded events - the closest he has come to victory is second in a Grade 2 here last year over a mile - but he's made little impact since being dropped in grade on his last three starts, including when tried in blinkers, and though he drops another level here he looks worth laying at the Morning Line forecast of 3 in the fifth race (19:16 GMT) at Aqueduct. This first try at six furlongs looks something of a desperate measure for this regressive three-year-old and there are a couple of likely types in opposition, not least the year-older Brass Pear who last time out was right back to his best in a claimer at Belmont, a run supported by a very good time. Brass Pear has winning form at Aqueduct at today's trip and this specialist sprinter may well prove too good for the dubious favourite.
In the seventh (20:14 GMT) at Aqueduct Mason's Dream sets a tall standard and can break his maiden at the third time of asking. There are several newcomers in the field, but none figure highly on Timeform's 'provisional' ratings - and estimate of the likely figure the horse is capable of running to first time out - and the forecast second and third favourites were both beaten a long way on their respective debuts. Indeed, Fear, priced up at 5, was 13 lengths behind Masons Dream when the pair met last time and though expected improvement has been factored into Fear's price, he still has it all on to turn around the form.
Filled With Wonder looks capable of taking the second race (23:27 GMT) at Penn National and is overpriced at 5 on the Morning Line. It's understandable why Blues Alley has been put in as favourite as he beat a field of similar strength here four starts back, since when he has been overfaced, but Filled With Wonder is himself taking a drop in grade by our estimation after a recent spell of good form at Delta Downs. He's no stranger to the Penn National circuit having won at today's trip back in June and also in October last year, and his trainer Micheal Pino has an excellent record with horses returning from a four-week or so break.
