Timeform's US team have three bets for Wednesday night's action for betting.betfair readers...
"With the prospect of an uncontested lead Sweet Ide makes plenty of appeal, not least given her trainer’s excellent record with horses second off the claim..."
Hawthorne 18:55 - Awalkinthemoonlite
In the opener at Hawthorne Awalkinthemoonlite makes plenty of appeal at the forecast 4 up against just five rivals, three of whom she met last time. That race was over a mile on the turf and saw Awalkinthemoonlite do well to nearly catch the other trio, all of whom were ridden more prominently than she was in a modestly-run race, not least considering that she was conceding upwards of 3lb to those rivals. Back at level weights, as well as back on dirt and over a longer trip, the same conditions as she won two starts back, this consistent and reliable mare - she has won eight of her 26 starts - can extend her fine career record.
Delta Downs 23:50 - Sweet Ide
Sweet Ide can get backers off to a good start in the first at Delta Downs, a claimer for fillies and mares over an extended six furlongs. Allen Landry's mare won over a mile at Evangeline Downs in the summer before running poorly on the turf, after which she left Keith Bourgeois, but her latest effort back here was very much a step back in the right direction, just touched off late on after making the running. This race is not so strong by our reckoning, and with the prospect of an uncontested lead she makes plenty of appeal, not least given her trainer's excellent record with horses second off the claim.
Delta Downs 03:05 - Prett U [LAY]
In the highlight at Delta Downs, the two-year-old allowance race at 03:05 GMT, Pretty U looks too short in the betting at the forecast 4.03/1 Steve Asmussen's filly won on her debut at Indiana after duelling from the front, but she has regressed noticeably since in contests similar to this at Churchill Downs and Indiana again. A 41-day break since her last run and Lasix back on might rejuvenate here, but she has plenty to find on the figures as it is and could well get caught in a pace duel up front if the race pans out as expected.
Race 1 Hawthorne (18:55 GMT) win back #5 AWALKINTHEMOONLITE @ 3.814/5 or longer
Race 1 Delta Downs (23:50 GMT) win back #3 SWEET IDE @ 3.02/1 or longer
