Timeform's US team pick out their three best bets for Sunday
"A chance is taken on the once very smart eight-year-old Manighar, who has yet to show his best form..."
Woodbine 18:56 - Joe's Blazing Aaron
The third race at Woodbine, a nine-furlong allowance contest on the polytrack, can fall the way of Joe's Blazing Aaron, who has been showing useful form on turf in New York throughout the summer. Those allowance races in the Big Apple are generally of a better standard than the ones in Canada, and Joe's Blazing Aaron has a big chance if managing to reproduce that form on this different surface. He does have one polytrack start to his name, but that was over an inadequate six furlongs, and this trip is much more suitable.
Woodbine 22:24 - Manighar
It's the final day of racing in 2014 at Woodbine, and the card has a decent look to it, headed by the Grade 3 Valedictory Stakes over a mile and three quarters on the polytrack (race 10). A chance is taken on the once very smart eight-year-old Manighar, who has yet to show his best form since shipping to North America, but is worth one last chance now he is making his second start for Graham Motion. The excellent Motion has a knack for getting the best out of imports and if he can get this one back to anywhere near his best Morning Line odds of 6/1 would look very generous.
Woodbine 23:54 - Rejoiceful [LAY]
The closing race of Woodbine's season is a very competitive thirteen-runner affair, and it could well pay to take on Morning Line favourite Rejoiceful. This four-year-old filly has been in good form of late, winning once and finishing fourth last time out, but those contests were relatively weak compared to this one. With several in here possessing stronger form on paper, a lay at around 4.03/1 makes plenty of appeal.
Woodbine race 3 (18:56 GMT) win back #2 JOE'S BLAZING AARON @ 4.03/1 or longer
Woodbine race 10 (22:24 GMT) win back #1 MANIGHAR @ 6.611/2 or longer
Woodbine race 13 (23:54 GMT) win lay #4 REJOICEFUL @ 4.03/1 or shorter
