Timeform's US team pick out their three best bets for Wednesday night's stateside action...
"Zarb's Tinto has achieved just as much if not more in two runs at five furlongs and is bred to be well suited by this longer trip..."
Aquedct 21:12 - Double Whammy
Double Whammy would have to be of interest in the last race at Aqueduct had the race been scheduled for the turf, as he has marginally the best chance on our figures, but seeing as this contest takes place on the inner dirt Maximus Mike looks the more likely winner. Considering he won his maiden over nine furlongs back here in the spring, it was surprising to see him dropped to an extended 6f on his latest start but he ran well, extending a sequence of creditable efforts since his win bar one occasion he tackled turf at Saratoga. The return to this mile and half a furlong will suit and he seems sure to go well.
Delta Downs 23:50 - Zarb's Tinto
In the first at Delta Downs Forecertain has been installed as Morning Line favourite after finishing second on his first start for his current yard in a similar event over course and distance last time. That run was a step up from his debut at five furlongs, and he has the blinkers on today for the first time despite making much of the running last time, but Zarb's Tinto has achieved just as much if not more in two runs at five furlongs and is bred to be well suited by this longer trip. He has a more favourable pitch inside today than last time and can make the expected improvement.
Woodbine 01:46 - Wisdom Listens [LAY]
Wisdom Listens looks a vulnerable Morning Line favourite in the fifth race at Woodbine. This is a slight class drop admittedly, but his usual running style - dropped out and produced with a late run - will mean that he will need everything to drop right from his extremely wide draw, not least a strong pace given that he has shown all his best form over further than this six furlongs. That possibility isn't immediately apparent judged on the likely pace scenario, and there are several dangers among the large field that could easily get first run on him. With his stable only running at around a 10% strike rate too, he's worth laying.
Race 9 Aqueduct (21:12 GMT) win back #1 MAXIMUS MIKE @ 4.03/1 or longer
Race 1 Delta Downs (23:50 GMT) win back #3 ZARB'S TINTO @ 4.216/5 or longer
Race 5 Woodbine (01:46 GMT) win lay #13 WISDOM LISTENS @ 5.04/1 or shorter
