Timeform pick out their bets from the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita on Saturday.
"...she rates a confident selection..."
Timeform on Sistercharlie
#4 Come Dancing - Filly & Mare Sprint (18:55)
Come Dancing boasts the best form in this field and there should be enough pace on for her to pick up the leaders late on. Covfefe will be a part of that pace and ought to be on the premises, while Spiced Perfection is another to consider.
#3 Imprimis - Turf Sprint (19:33)
A wide-open renewal, with Imprimis the token selection. Frankie Dettori's mount has a good draw in stall 3 and can bounce back after a couple of below-par efforts. Belvoir Bay heads a long list of potential threats.
#5 Omaha Beach - Dirt Mile (20:10)
Omaha Beach returned from a long layoff to prove better than ever over what should have been an inadequate trip last time. Back up to a mile, he makes plenty of appeal as one of the best bets on the card. Coal Front and Improbable can fight it out for the places.
#2 Sistercharlie - Filly & Mare Turf (20:54)
In theory, Sistercharlie's task has been made that much easier by the retirement of Magical, and she rates a confident selection to follow up last year's win in this race. Iridessa and Fleeting head up the European challenge, with Vasilika the best of the rest for the home team.
#6 Shancelot - Sprint (21:36)
This promises to be fast and furious, with Mitole and Shancelot likely to be squaring off from the get-go. Provided they don't cut each other's throats, the year-younger Shancelot can come out on top, with his Amsterdam Stakes demolition job still fresh in the memory. The booking of Jose Ortiz adds to the appeal in what should be a great spectacle.
#9 Circus Maximus - Mile (22:20)
Last year's winner Expert Eye provided the Europeans with a first success in this race since Goldikova completed her hat-trick in 2010, and they can repeat the dose with Circus Maximus this time around. Aidan O'Brien's colt should be prominently placed from the outset and can get the better of Uni and Got Stormy, who look the best of the US runners.
#4 Midnight Bisou - Distaff (23:00)
Midnight Bisou has carried all before her this season and will take plenty of stopping as she bids to improve on her third-place finish in this race last year. There is little to choose on ratings between a host of runners after her, with Blue Prize just the best of them.
#9 Bricks and Mortar - Turf (23:40)
Bricks and Mortar has been the best US turf horse by quite some way this year and can crown a fine campaign with a win in the Turf. There is a slight doubt over his stamina for this trip, but the emphasis is firmly on speed at this track, and his turn of foot may be too much to resist late on. Old Persian can give him plenty to think about, while Anthony Van Dyck should also be in the mix.
#6 Elate - Classic (00:44)
While McKinzie sets a fair standard on ratings, all his best form has been shy of this ten-furlong trip, and he may be found wanting late on. With that in mind, the proven stamina of the mare Elate can come to the fore (3 for 3 at the trip), while the three-year-old Code of Honor is another who has no issues over this distance. Elate's stable companion Yoshida heads up the shortlist of the remainder.
