Nick Shiambouros returns with a selection from Southwell and one from Wolverhampton...
"The Mark Johnston stable is going well at the moment and, I think he will have this well related individual ready to do himself justice"
15:10 Southwell - Louis' Vac Pouch
Louis' Vac Pouch is taken to upset the short priced favourite in this novices' hurdle.
This gelding finished fourth to Misteron at Taunton last November. He refused to settle in the early stages, but kept on really well over the last and was not beaten all that far. I thought that was a promising effort, and is entitled to move forward providing he relaxes a little better. At present he is trading at 3.55/2 on the exchange.
Listen To The Man heads the market at 2.0621/20. This mare was turned over at 1/9 when finishing second to Catchamat at Newcastle earlier this month. She was beaten fair and square, and seemingly had no excuse. The winner has since won again, but I have zero interest in backing her.
17:20 Wolverhampton - Havelock
Havelock should go close in this interesting maiden.
This colt was last seen on a racecourse last May when finishing a close second to Scofflaw at Chester. He attempted to make all, but was collared well inside the final furlong and had to settle for the runner-up spot. The Mark Johnston stable is going well at the moment and, I think he will have this well related individual ready to do himself justice. He is currently trading at 4.67/2 on the exchange.
Fast Landing is the favourite at 2.166/5. He finished a respectable second to Mystique Moon over this course and is open to further improvement. He is the main danger, but I think the selection has more upside.
