Bets Of The Day: Auxiliary to take maiden for Haggas and Highclere

Fresh from tipping Tropics who won at 8.2 BSP yesterday, Nick Shiambouros returns with a selection from Brighton and one from Ripon...

"He should find the necessary improvement to land the spoils for his in form trainer"

Back Auxiliary @ 15/8 on the Sportsbook in the 14:10 at Brighton

14:10 Brighton - Auxiliary

In the opening race at Brighton Auxiliary should open his account for Willie Haggas.

This Fast Company gelding caught the eye on debut when finishing fourth to Case Key at Leicester. He was scrubbed along in the early stages, but finally got the hang of things and put in some good work at the end. He should find the necessary improvement to land the spoils for his in form trainer.

He is currently trading at 15/8 on the Sportsbook and I have backed him at this price.

The main danger to the selection could be Raj To Riches who has some decent form in maidens.

16:25 Ripon - Final Venture

This is a super competitive handicap but I think Final Venture can get the job done for trainer Alan Swinbank.

This Equiano gelding was forward enough to win on debut at Newcastle in April. He missed the break, but finished strongly to take the lead inside the final furlong to win by a neck from Soie D'Leau.

On his next start he ran respectably when finishing sixth to Amazour on soft ground that probably did not suit him. I think he could be well handicapped, and he is facing mainly exposed types.

He is trading at 6.411/2 on the exchange which is about right in my opinion.
