Nick Shiambouros is back with a couple of decent priced selections from Doncaster and Newbury...
"I think he is open to a fair bit of improvement and represents decent value at 4.1 on the exchange"
12:35 Doncaster - Chap
Chap could run well at a decent price in this novices' hurdle.
This gelding finished down the field behind Ballyandy in a bumper at Cheltenham last month. He was never in the hunt and finished well beaten. He had previously won a bumper easily at Aintree in the spring and is best judged on that effort.
I think he is worth another chance on his hurdles debut and is attractively priced at 8.07/1 on the exchange.
The main danger to the selection is Go Long who was most impressive when beating Charbel over this course last month. He is bound to improve, but does have to carry a penalty and is short enough at 2.546/4.
15:45 Newbury - Oldgrangewood
Oldgrangewood should run well in this introductory hurdle.
This point winner finished second to the talented Barney Dwan at Market Rasen in November. He ran on willingly in the closing stages but was firmly put in his place. The winner has since won at Sedgefield and looks useful.
I think he is open to a fair bit of improvement and represents decent value at 4.1 on the exchange.
Favourite Premier Bond is the obvious danger.
This gelding finished a good second to stablemate O O Seven at Sandown earlier this month. He delivered a strong challenge two flights from home, but could not get by the talented winner.
The form of that race has not worked out particularly well, and his current price of 2.0621/20 on the exchange is a little thin in my opinion.
Tuesday's Recommended Bets
Back Chap at 8.07/1 in the 12:35 at Doncaster
