Nick Shiambouros returns with two selections from Southwell and Hereford...
"I think he is open to a good deal of improvement and is attractively priced at 7.26/1 on the exchange"
14:30 Southwell - Big Brave Bob
Big Brave Bob should run well at a decent price in this interesting race.
This gelding was not bred to be a two-year-old, but did show promise on debut when finishing second to Iconic Knight at Windsor last October. He missed the break but finished strongly to grab second near the finish. He disappointed on his next start, but that race may have come too soon for him. I think he is open to a good deal of improvement and is attractively priced at 7.26/1 on the exchange.
Walk On Water is not entirely straightforward but does have ability. He took the scenic route when finishing fourth behind Sergio Leone at Kempton last year, and was not beaten all that far. At present he is trading at 2.6613/8 on the Exchange.
15:15 Hereford - Jurby
Jurby is my idea of the winner on this novices' hurdle.
This gelding finished second to the progressive Storm Home at Wincanton earlier this month. He delivered a challenge three flights from home, but failed to quicken and could only stay on at one pace. The winner looks pretty decent, and time may tell he faced an impossible task. I think he will appreciate the extra yardage and is fairly priced at 4.47/2 on the Exchange.
Westend Story is the odds-on favourite at 1.9210/11. He finished second to the impressive Soul Emotion at Sandown on his latest start and must be respected.
