Timeform head to the Vaal for their three best bets on Tuesday...
#3 Ice Lord - Vaal R6 (14:05 GMT)
Ice Lord broke his maiden at the second time of asking when running out a length and three quarter winner over this C&D last month. He stands out by some way on form and will prove difficult to beat on his handicap debut. Pelican Bay ran a creditable third at Turffontein in September and can chase home the selection, while Village Deep can fill the places.
#8 Aristachus - Vaal R7 (14:40 GMT)
Aristachus was a C&D winner here in August and followed up his recent third at this track with a good runner-up finish under similar circumstances earlier this month. He sets the standard in this contest and will be difficult to beat. Pillaroftheearth has a good record around here and is expected to be thereabouts, while Big Blue Marble may grab a bit of place money.
#7 Riqaaby - Vaal R8 (15:15 GMT)
Riqaaby improved on his debut run with a creditable third at this track last month and progressed further still when runner-up in a C&D maiden on his latest appearance. The winner of that race has recently contested a Grade 3 event, so the form clearly has substance, and the Shadwell horse makes the most appeal here for powerful connections. By Chance has to enter calculations now up in trip, while Miss Cap Mala also requires a second look.
