Timeform pick out their three best bets from Sligo on Tuesday...
"...was unlucky not to finish closer - perhaps unlucky not to even win..."
Timeform on Royal Canford
Cruella Dovil - 17:30 Sligo
Cruella Dovil stepped up on her reappearance run and ran her best race to date when finishing runner-up in a big-field handicap at the Curragh two weeks ago, leading well inside the final furlong and only headed in the final 100 yards. The step back into maiden company now can make the difference and she is fancied to confirm the improvement shown there. Chamrousse and Frosty Beach can give the selection most to think about.
Royal Canford - 20:00 Sligo
Royal Canford remains a maiden, but has shaped well on numerous occasions, not least when third at Killarney last time dropped back to a mile. He stepped forward from his reappearance, and was unlucky not to finish closer - perhaps unlucky not to even win - travelling fluently, but having to wait for a gap two furlongs out. Royal Canford finished with a flourish, and looks capable of winning races from this sort of mark, so looks a big player back up in trip. Grace To Grace is another one to note having just her second start for Joseph O'Brien.
Alakahan - 20:30 Sligo
Alakahan shaped well on his debut in a stronger-looking race than this at Cork earlier this month and makes plenty of appeal now with improvement on the cards. Don't turn away from Small Town Boy, who ran a cracker on his return at Limerick and should appreciate this longer trip. A big run could also be forthcoming from A Wave of The Sea second time up.
