Nick Shiambouros was out of luck yesterday when both his selections finished second. Nick returns with two more fancies from Lingfield and Wolverhampton...
"Apprentice Fay McManoman gave this gelding a super ride in a “ Hands And Heels” race at Kempton last month"
14:45 Lingfield - Little Boy Blue
Little Boy Blue should go close in this novice stakes.
This gelding finished a close second to All Out in a Nottingham maiden in October. He took the lead a furlong from home, but was collared close home. Hopefully he can transition this promising effort to the Polytrack surface and get his head in front. At present he is trading at 3.39/4 on the exchange which is just about right.
David Elsworth sends out the current favourite Galloway Hills who is trading at 2.727/4. He finished a closing third to Hit The Beat over this course last month, and is entitled to improve. He is the main danger.
17:50 Wolverhampton - Cookie Ring
Cookie Ring is my idea of the winner of this competitive looking handicap.
Apprentice Fay McManoman gave this gelding a super ride in a " Hands And Heels" race at Kempton last month. She nursed him in to the lead well inside the final furlong, and pushed him out to score. I think he can win again and is attractively priced at 4.1 on the exchange. In addition the stable is going well which is an added bonus.
The filly Sunshineandbubbles could be the danger. She attempted to make all over a longer trip when fading in to fourth behind King Kevin earlier this month. The one furlong drop in distance should help her, but has only has one victory in 25 lifetime starts which is a concern. At present she is trading at 5.04/1 on the exchange.
