Nick Shiambouros returns with two selections from Brighton and Newcastle...
"Further improvement is expected and the underfoot conditions will suit"
I am going to take a chance with Westbrook Bertie in this maiden.
This son of Sixties Icon put in a much improved effort when finishing third to Alternative Fact at Salisbury last month. He put in some good work in the closing stages, and finished the race with good energy. Further improvement is expected and the underfoot conditions will suit. At present he is trading at [10.0] on the exchange and have backed him at that price.
Blooriedotcom is the market leader at [3.25]. He finished third to the heavily favoured Gabr at Yarmouth last month. He ran on well in the closing stages, but failed to deliver a challenge behind the easy winner. He likely has more to offer, but looks plenty short enough in my opinion.
Vera Drake should go close in this interesting race.
This filly ran well in defeat when finishing second to Apple Anni at Beverley last month. She kicked for home a furlong out, but the winner pounced and had to settle for a place. I think the step up to a mile will suit her down to the ground, and is fairly priced at [3.85] on the exchange.
Consolida merits consideration. She caught the eye on debut when finishing fifth to Magic Milly at HQ last month. She ran on well inside the final furlong, and would have grabbed a place in a few more strides. At present she is trading at [4.0] on the exchange.
