Timeform pick out three bets from the UK on Wednesday...
Opechee - Fakenham 14:40 (LAY)
Opechee appeared to take a big step forward when 13 lengths third of 12 to Return Flight on his handicap at Southwell on his recent return, but he did start at 50/1 that day (he's yet to start at shorter than 25/1 in six starts) and preference here is for Fine Resolve and Lee Side Lady. Opechee may still be a work in progress, and the booking of Tom Scudamore (taking over from a conditional) does catch the eye, but we'd rather have the other two running for us on this occasion, especially with Opechee stepping up to two and a half miles for the first time (travelled strongly last time).
Northandsouth - Fakenham 16:40
With Queen Spud a suspect jumper and Bay To Go, Charlie Mon and Gamain all having suspect Timeform ratings at present, this handicap chase could represent a good opportunity for Northandsouth. Nigel Twiston-Davies' gelding ran poorly on his chase bow after four months off at Perth five weeks ago but he was progressive over hurdles and is worth another chance over the larger obstacles. He's also a half-brother to point winner Nutin Fancy out of a half-sister to very smart chaser up to three miles Opera Hat.
Panther Patrol - Kempton 19:45
Trainer Eve Johnson Houghton and apprentice jockey Hollie Doyle have both enjoyed fantastic seasons, the pair combining successfully with Scarlet Dragon in the valuable Old Rowley Cup at Newmarket recently, and they can add another winner to their tallies courtesy of Panther Patrol in this seven-furlong handicap. Panther Patrol has been ticking over nicely this year, finishing in the frame on his last three runs, and, provided he gets the race to suit (helped by a strong pace), he can get back to winning ways from a handy mark with cheekpieces reapplied.
Timeform UK SmartPlays:
