"West Coast Flyer is most progressive on the all-weather and is a confident pick to defy the handicapper again."

Perfect Angel - Salisbury 15:40

The feature race of the day, the Group 3 Dick Poole Fillies' Stakes for two-year-old at Salisbury, can go to Perfect Angel whose Goodwood victory received another form boost when the runner-up Promising went close in the Group 3 Prestige Stakes over the weekend. Andrew Balding's filly cost only 17,000 guineas as a yearling but she made an encouraging debut when a half-length second to Funky Footsteps in a maiden at Newbury in June and then improved to go one better in an 18-runner similar race at Goodwood. Despite her modest pedigree, there should be even more to come from Perfect Angel and she looks as interesting as any of the fillies in this race.

Ocean Ready - Salisbury 17:10

The Sir Mark Prescott-trained Cape Crystal benefited from a two-month mid-season break when coming back to win twice in recent weeks and it could be same story for her stablemate Ocean Ready. He was last seen in July, when producing a career-best effort to finish sixth of 13 to Generalship in a competitive three-year-olds handicap at Kempton, and could easily return an even better model here given his yard. The US-bred Ocean Ready does need to prove himself as effective on turf as he is on the all-weather, given he was disappointing on his only previous try on grass at Musselburgh in June, but his useful half-brother In The Slips won twice on turf in this country before being sent to North America.

West Coast Flyer - Chelmsford 20:40

This a competitive race on the face of things, but West Coast Flyer is most progressive on the all-weather and is a confident pick to defy the handicapper again. David Simcock's charge only made his debut and has won three of his six starts, including three out of four an artificial surfaces, bouncing straight back returned to polytrack and dropped back in trip when beating Sarsted over 11 furlongs at Kempton last time. A 5 lb rise shouldn't be enough to stop him winning again.
