Timeform pick out three bets from Thursday's UK racing...
"Provided they go quick enough up front here, he should be able to get involved from the same mark..."
Melgate Melody - 16:20 Chelmsford
Tyrannical caught the eye on handicap debut at Brighton last time and looks just the sort his trainer excels with, particularly over longer trips. He remains at ten furlongs for now, however, and it might be worth chancing Melgate Melody instead, who showed much improved form on his handicap debut when stepped up to this trip last time at Redcar. He looked all about stamina that day, and provided they go quick enough up front here, he should be able to get involved from the same mark. Aksum hasn't been with Michael Bell long and is another who remains open to improvement.
Intilaaq - 19:40 Sandown
Despite disappointing when sent off second favourite for the Dubai Turf in the spring, Intilaaq still maintains plenty of potential, and is worth another chance to prove himself a potentially top-class performer now back on home soil, having looked every bit a Group 1 horse in the making when bolting up in the Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock on his final British start of last season. Time Test has a sense of unfinished business about him, having been below form on both of his starts at the highest level last season, and he can provide the main danger to Intilaaq, who perhaps has more scope for improvement than Roger Charlton's colt.
Hard To Handel - 20:05 Newcastle
The two David O'Meara-trained runners, Hard To Handel and Firmament catch the eye here, and both could yet have more to offer for a yard which is particularly good at squeezing improvement out of similar types. Firmament shaped well on both of his two starts for the yard and will be a player, but Daniel Tudhope has seemingly opted to ride the race-fit Hard To Handel instead, and he could be the one worth siding with after posting a good third on reappearance/yard debut at Beverly last time despite having had to wait for a gap to appear at a crucial stage.
