Timeform pick out three bets from the third day of Glorious Goodwood on Thursday.

"The first two pulled some six lengths clear of the remainder and Amabilis certainly showed enough to suggest she is up to winning a similar event before too long..."

Big Orange - Goodwood 15:10

Big Orange enjoyed the run of the race when landing his second Princess of Wales' Stakes at Newmarket three weeks ago, but he was still holding his advantage all the way to the line and that effort represented a significant improvement on the form he produced to win this race last year. He showed a typically tenacious attitude to see off the attentions of Quest For More and Trip To Paris in this valuable prize 12 months ago and - 6 lb clear of his nearest rival on Timeform ratings here - Big Orange is fancied to get the better of the improving Curbyourenthusiasm and emulate the last dual winner of the Goodwood Cup, Double Trigger.

Amabilis - Goodwood 16:20

Amabilis made an encouraging start to her career when second at Newmarket recently, keeping on well when asked for her effort in the final furlong and simply finding one too good on the day. The first two pulled some six lengths clear of the remainder and Amabilis certainly showed enough to suggest she is up to winning a similar event before too long. Indeed, that form gives those with previous experience 9 lb to find on Timeform ratings here and, although there are some interesting newcomers in opposition, Amabilis is expected to open her account at the second time of asking and tee herself up for a crack at something better later in the year.

Montataire - Goodwood 16:55

Montataire completed the hat-trick with an emphatic victory at Newmarket on Friday, appearing to have more in hand than the official winning margin suggests and giving the impression he could yet make his presence felt in better company. This in itself represents the toughest test of his short career to date but, with a significant rise in the weights sure to be imminent, connections have understandably taken the decision to turn him out quickly under a 6 lb penalty. He is a marginal leader on Timeform ratings and, while the quick turnaround is an obvious concern, Montataire is expected to prove too strong for stablemate Teofonic.
