Graceful Legend - Uttoxeter 13:00 (LAY)

Graceful Legend isn't a horse to take on aggressively given she made a winning handicap debut last time, but she may struggle to give weight (not taking into account her rider's claim) to a couple of other lightly-raced types in this novice hurdle, especially dropping back to two miles. Just as interesting are Poppy Kay, who shaped as if better for run when fourth of 12 to La Bague Au Roi in a mares maiden at Uttoxeter on her hurdling debut last month, and Champagne To Go, who failed to meet expectations on her hurdling debut but possibly just found the race coming too soon 17 days after her winning debut in a bumper.

Black Ivory - Uttoxeter 15:45

A few of the market principals disappointed in the maiden hurdle that Black Ivory won at Hexham last month, and it isn't anything to get carried away with, but unlike the majority of the runners in this handicap hurdle, he can boast a positive profile. Malcolm Jefferson's four-year-old still appeals as being favourably handicapped from an opening mark of 110 and is taken to make a successful handicap bow under Brian Hughes.

Jaunty Flight - Exeter 16:00

The benefits of a positive trainer change are often significant, and Jaunty Flight could prove the point again in this conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle starting out for Dr Richard Newland (having left Brian Eckley). Jaunty Flight hasn't been at his best for over a year, but his mark has fallen as a result (now 1 lb below his last winning mark) and he's taken to capitalise on it in a race that may not take much winning. It's also interesting that he's entered at Hereford on Wednesday.
