Timeform pick out three bets for Sunday's racing...
"Seven furlongs should be fine for Dark Command after his encouraging return over six furlongs on heavy going..."
Lopes Dancer - Musselburgh 15:00
Lopes Dancer was much improved when runner-up to Sands Chorus in a handicap over a mile at Pontefract on his return, finishing ahead of a next-time-out winner, and he should have a similar event in him off his current mark. Alan Swinbank's four-year-old remains unexposed after six starts and he's likely to prove as effective over this nine-furlong trip given he finished second over slightly further at Hamilton last summer.
Alpha Delphini - Musselburgh 16:00
In a field light on potential improvers, Alpha Delphini could be the answer making just his sixth outing. Bryan Smart's five-year-old got off the mark at the fourth time of asking in a five-furlong Beverley maiden last August, beating a next-time-out winner now rated 90, and he ran creditably despite a slow start on his final start when fifth of 14 to Mercers Row in a handicap. Alpha Delphini may ultimately prove best over six furlongs, but he may well prove too good here anyway.
Dark Command - Musselburgh 16:30
Seven furlongs should be fine for Dark Command after his encouraging return over six furlongs on heavy going, and he can open his account at the sixth time of asking. Michael Dods' gelding finished in front of some next-time-out winners when third in a 20-runner nursery on his final start last term, and at least matched that form when fourth of 13 to Tricky Dicky in a handicap there last month. He looks the one to beat here off the same mark.
