Timeform pick out bets from three different venues in the UK on Saturday.

Memorial Day - Newbury 14:20

Memorial Day proved better than ever when successful on his return from 12 months off the track at Pontefract, picking up where he left off last season and giving the impression there could yet be more to come with that outing under his belt. He could not have been more impressive in pulling eight lengths clear of a useful yardstick that day and, although this represents by far the toughest task of his career to date, Memorial Day is fancied to confirm the promise of last time and can take this step up in grade in his stride. Western Hymn has been highly-tried, but can usually be relied upon to run his race at this level and makes most appeal with the forecast spot in mind.

Wholestone - Cheltenham 14:25

Wholestone looked a useful prospect when getting off the mark over hurdles at Warwick in September, making light of a 10 month absence from the track and shaping as if the step up to this longer trip would see him in an even better light. The bare form of that effort gives him something to find with West Approach on Timeform ratings, but the Nigel Twiston-Davies yard could hardly be in better form at present (eight winners from last 21 runners) and Wholestone should prove extremely difficult to beat with a clear round of jumping here. West Approach is certainly bred for the job (half-brother to Thistlecrack) and can give the selection most to do after an easy victory last time.

Uae Prince - Doncaster 15:15

Uae Prince shaped well when third on his racecourse debut at Leicester and showed the benefit of that initial experience with a dominant success on his most recent outing at the same venue. He appeared to have more in hand than the official winning margin would suggest on that occasion, travelling strongly into contention as the field entered the final furlong and quickly asserting under a hands-and-heels ride. That form leaves his rivals with 2 lb to find on Timeform ratings here and - open to more improvement after just two starts in his short career to date - Uae Prince is expected to see off the attentions of Huge Future and can establish himself as an exciting prospect for 2017.
