Timeform pick out bets from Ascot, Haydock and Wincanton on Saturday...
"He's normally held up in his races, which could suit given the presence of Ulck du Lin, Gentleman Jon and Sail By The Sea, who all tend to race prominently."
Vieux Lion Rouge - 14:25 Ascot
Vieux Lion Rouge, who racked up a hat-trick of wins over fences earlier in the season, was in the process of running a respectable race when falling three out at Cheltenham last time. David Pipe's runner should relish a truly-run race here, which seems likely given the presence of both Waldorf Salad and Bally Beaufort. Sausalito Sunrise, who didn't appreciate a muddling race last time, looks the biggest danger.
Rigadin de Beauchene - 14:40 Haydock
Rigadin de Beauchene further displayed his liking for Haydock with victory here in December, adding to his previous win in the 2014 renewal of this race. Venetia Williams' runner was unfortunate to be knocked over by a loose horse at the fifteenth fence at Warwick last time (going well at the time), and will relish this slog in the mud. Conditions will also be no problem for the Welsh National winner Mountainous, but a 10 lb higher handicap mark makes life tougher.
Gardefort - 15:55 Wincanton
Gardefort ran a career-best effort when successful at Wetherby in January, and then followed up with a fine third behind the Irish raider Dandridge at Doncaster later that month. He's normally held up in his races, which could suit given the presence of Ulck du Lin, Gentleman Jon and Sail By The Sea, who all tend to race prominently. The last-named, pulled up in the Arkle when last seen, is an interesting contender on his first start for Neil Mulholland.
