Timeform pick out three bets for Saturday's racing.
"Express Himself is three from three in handicaps over this C&D..."
Express Himself - Haydock 15:20
Plenty with claims here but perhaps none more so than Express Himself, who is three from three in handicaps over this C&D - including a career-best effort when running down the progressive three-year-old Mitchum Swagger on his final start of last season - and shaped well in the Lincoln on his reappearance, where he loomed up two furlongs out but was unable to sustain his effort (entitled to need the run). Back under his optimum conditions here he looks a strong contender. Storm Rock also looked as though he would improve for the run in the Lincoln last time and could be the biggest danger to the selection.
Un de Sceaux - Sandown 15:35
The final Grade 1 of the British National Hunt season is set to be a cracker, with the 1-2 from the Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, Sprinter Sacre and Un de Sceaux, set to take each other on again. Although Sprinter Sacre beat Un de Sceaux fair and square that day, the fact that Special Tiara - who hassled Un de Sceaux for the lead at Cheltenham and denied him the opportunity to dominate from the front as he usually does - goes to Punchestown instead of Sandown will play into the hands of Willie Mullins' horse, and he is the selection to narrowly turn the tables on Sprinter Sacre.
Opposition - Doncaster 17:00
Ed Dunlop has made a good start with his three-year-old handicappers this season and Opposition looks set to run well on his handicap debut here upped markedly in trip, which is set to suit based on his pedigree (by Dalakhani and dam stayed 10.3f). He has only run to a modest level so far in three starts in maidens, but it would be no surprise to see him do better now tackling handicaps from what looks a workable mark. Purple Raven and Free Bounty are also expected to make strides in middle-distance handicaps this season and look the dangers.
