Timeform pick out three bets for Monday's UK racing.
"He took plenty of racing last season so the quick turnaround does not look an issue, and he should be able to follow up."
Upavon - 15:15 Brighton
Upavon took advantage of his much lower mark on turf (has won off 23 lb higher on the all-weather) last week in an apprentice race at Newmarket, and obviously looks very well treated given he is able to race off the same mark here. He took plenty of racing last season so the quick turnaround does not look an issue, and he should be able to follow up. Jaywalker showed himself to be in good heart after a long absence over C&D recently and could pick up the pieces if the selection is unable to repeat his last effort.
Chester Street - 20:10 Leicester
Roger Charlton sent out Imperial Aviator to win the London Gold Cup at Newbury on the weekend, and he saddles another unexposed three-year-old in Chester Street at Leicester on Monday, who is expected to improve plenty on his reappearance effort at Newmarket earlier this month over a trip that potentially stretched his stamina. He went with plenty of zest before his effort petered out late, shaping as though he has trained on well after a winter break, and he is worth another chance with that effort under his belt now back at a more suitable trip. Bell Heather is a well bred filly who is also open to improvement and may provide the main danger after her promising start to the season at Haydock last time.
St Michel - 20:40 Leicester
Naturally for a three-year-old handicap at this time of year there are plenty of unexposed potential improvers here, but the most interesting contender could be the well-bred St Michel, who is bound to improve for the step up to this trip based on his pedigree (by Sea The Stars). The emphasis on speed didn't suit him on his final maiden start at Lingfield last year, but he stuck to his task well and it would be no surprise to see an improved effort as he now tackles handicaps for the first time from a workable mark. Mark Johnston's Kelvin Hall is battle-hardened from his many starts at two and took a big step forward when upped to this trip at Wolverhampton in April, so he could be the biggest danger.
