Timeform pick out three bets from Plumpton and Wolverhampton on Monday...
"Whispering Warrior has a 100% course record at Wolverhampton, having won over the extended mile at the track in March 2014..."
Pancake Day - Wolverhampton 13:50
Pancake Day was unlucky to bump into Fairy Foxglove (runs in the 14:20) over six furlongs at this track two weeks ago and remains of interest off the same handicap mark (55). Pancake Day wore first-time cheekpieces there, but he has the visor reapplied her as he returns to five furlongs and is back ridden by Ben Curtis; these were the same circumstances that combined for his most recent win last June (off 3 lb higher).
Rock Gone - Plumpton 15:00
Rock Gone was the most expensive horse purchased at public auction by Grand National-winning trainer Dr Richard Newland when picked up for 58,000 guineas in May 2014 and, having won for the trainer when last seen in December of that year, he can pick up where he left off in this handicap hurdle. Rock Gone showed fair form over timber in a few starts for Edmond Kent in Ireland, and he took his form to the next level when winning that second start for Newland. An opening handicap mark of 126 looks workable.
Whispering Warrior - Wolverhampton 16:20
Whispering Warrior wasn't seen to best effect at Chelmsford on Thursday, when held up in a steadily-run race and forced to race wide, and he may be worth chancing to bounce back having gone close behind the well-treated Winterlude at Lingfield the time before. Whispering Warrior has a 100% course record at Wolverhampton, having won over the extended mile at the track in March 2014, and he will hopefully get a fair pace to chase down here with Dance of Fire in the field.
