Red Tea - 14:30 Pontefract

A competitive handicap but RED TEA should be spot-on following her reappearance at Wolverhampton and she makes plenty of appeal with an eye-catching booking of Paul Hanagan doing the steering. Peter Hiatt's filly may have most to fear from Magic City, who was a decisive winner at Newcastle on his penultimate start and remains on a workable mark. Westward Ho ended 2016 on a low-key note but isn't one to give up on, while Suitor is also worth a second look.

Dan Emmett - 15:35 Pontefract

Plenty of the regulars but the former John Wainwright-trained DAN EMMETT has raced just once in one of these and ran well. He's made up into a fairly useful staying handicap hurdler in the meantime for Michael Scudamore and is interesting back on the level from a BHA mark of 68. Tuscan Gold was runner-up in Round 1 a fortnight ago and has obvious claims off the same mark up in trip, while La Fritillaire has a shout if staying this new trip.

Stepper Point - 17:15 Windsor

William Muir's experienced campaigner STEPPER POINT had excuses when turned over at short odds at Lingfield last time (caught wide) and is well worth another chance to show he can take advantage of a mark which is lenient based even on the pick of last year's form never mind his smart 2015 level. Excellent George went close at Wolverhampton last time and may provide the main threat ahead of the returning Dark Shot.

Timeform UK SmartPlays:

Win back Red Tea in the 14:30 Pontefract
Win back Dan Emmett in the 15:35 Pontefract
Win back Stepper Point in the 17:15 Windsor
